Technician, Michael, arrived within a few hours of calling Bolton for a mysterious water leak that had been going on since 7/2/26. Losing 1000-1300 GPD according to watersmart app at AVL Water. He checked meter, no activity, checked all faucets and spigots and toilets. Nothing using water in the house. I turned on dishwasher and activity registered on meter, turned off, it stopped. Checked pipes in the crawl space, hot water heater, no leaks. We called the AVL Water person who had come the day before and saw activity on the meter. They were both stumped. They suggested that someone might be using my water and that I put locks on the spigots or add a device that turns off the water when it exceeds my normal usage but added it was very expensive. MIchael was thoughtful, courteous, and very disappointed that he could not solve my problem.

I couldn’t be happier with the experience I had with Bolton AC. From start to finish, their communication was clear, prompt, and professional, so I always knew what to expect.

The installation team arrived on time, worked efficiently, and took great care with every detail. Their workmanship was meticulous, and it was obvious they take pride in doing the job right. They were also incredibly courteous and respectful of my home, leaving everything clean when they finished.

Replacing an HVAC system is a significant investment, and Bolton AC made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and a company that truly stands behind its work.

The Bolton Company endured the Great Depression and continued to grow steadily through the 1930s. W.E. Bolton Sr. leased an office and shop building on the corner of West Martin and Harrington Streets until the outbreak of World War II. Shortages caused by the war reduced sales and forced Bolton to operate his business out of his home.

After six years of service in the armed forces—much of it spent as an aircraft mechanic aboard the USS Yorktown—and upon completing his degree at North Carolina State College, William E. Bolton Jr. joined his father in the family business. In 1946, with just three employees, they opened a new office at 519 West North Street. The W.E. Bolton Company became an integral part of Raleigh’s remarkable post-war expansion, continuing to serve residential customers while steadily growing its presence in the commercial market. It was during this time that William Bolton Jr. began installing and servicing refrigeration equipment for local dairies.

This diversification promoted a change in the company name to Bolton Corp. in 1970. Throughout the 1970s, Bolton Corp. grew in size and complexity, undertaking projects such as Rex Hospital, the School of Veterinary Medicine at NCSU, the Radisson Hotel, the Raleigh Civic Center renovation, the One Hanover Square Office, UCB Plaza, and the American Airlines Hub at RDU.
